Band Bio:
Formed in may of 2008 with the idea of housing original material, while maintaining a strong backdrop of cover tunes, Soul Robot takes a Bluesy-Funky approach towards creating a high-energy, dance-friendly live experience. Soul Robot was formed when long time musical companions John Spurr, and Dave Hill joined forces with bassist Eddie Hargreaves. Berklee musician Eli Cutting joined the band soon after, adding his seamless guitar licks and vocal melodies to the mix. The Band Landed it's first gig at The Grog in newburyport in september of 2008, gaining immediate local attention. After traveling up to maine for a slot at the maine Harvest Festival, and doing a small string of north shore dates, Soul Robot returned to the grog for another gig before being hired as the Thursday night House Band for the Grog. Soul Robot has played at The Grog almost every thursday since January 1st 2009, expanding its crowd following, and growing as a band through musical exploration. The Thursday nights have been a big hit and have attracted the attention of newspapers including the Portsmouth Wire and the Newburyport Daily News. Other scheduled venues include La Chiquita in Salisbury, Uncle Eddies in Salisbury, The Muddy River in Portsmouth NH, Harpers Ferry in Allston MA, Mad River Tavern in Amesbury, Newburyport Waterfront, Chit Chat Lounge in Haverhill, and many more. John, Dave, Eli, and Eddie, are currently at work piecing together songs to be recorded on the Soul Robot debut album expected to be released early fasll of 2009.
